Lucy Lamont is a real teacher but not an occupational therapist. The activities and guidance provided are based on her knowledge as a teaching professional and her research into the work occupational therapists do with children to help improve handwriting. She is not providing specific advice to you about your child, but is giving advice, suggestions and ideas that she feels are helpful and true. She is not giving occupational therapy advice.

Childhood disorders, learning disorders and developmental delays cannot be diagnosed or treated through this website. If you are concerned about your child’s development please speak to their school about the support they can receive. If your child is currently attending Occupational Therapy, these activities can be used to supplement what they are doing, but always check with your child’s Occupational Therapist first.

As with all activities involving children, please take great care to ensure the activity area is clear and that all sharp objects are moved out of reach, and that parental supervision is available at all times.

Some activities suggested on this website make use of small objects that may cause a choking hazard for young children. Keep all small objects out of reach of young children.

Some of the activities suggested require physical activity or exercise. Please only demonstrate the exercises if you are medically fit to do so. Your child should only carry out these activities if they are medically fit to do so. If in doubt, please consult your doctor. If any activity causes any kind of pain or discomfort to you or your child, stop at once and consult your doctor.
